I asked some friends 9 questions about how they were making the best out of this current situation we find ourselves in, and here’s their answers. Now we have the wonderful Linette…
I am an actress/producer and the principal of Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Primrose Hill.
My mom said I almost jumped onto the stage when I saw my first play as a little girl. My performing career began very young at age three when I took my first steps on stage as a classical ballerina. I embraced the discipline of the arts, developed my skills and by age 14 was teaching dance to other children at my local youth centre.
My late parents inspired my love of stories and after an injury ended my dance aspirations, I went on to study at Drama Centre London preparing me for professional theatre roles that include Lady Macbeth, and extensive work in television, and film. Upcoming film roles this year include Disney’s Cruella with Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, and Agatha Raisin with Ashley Jensen.
I have produced and directed many shows for young people in the West End including at Her Majesty’s theatre and at RADA London.
As a producer I am currently co-producing my second short film. My first short film The Prowler went on to win multiple awards in the UK and abroad. My next film ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE is inspired by a story aired on BBC Radio 4, which explored the experiences of people who had given up everything to care for their sick or elderly relatives.
It is a funny and uplifting short film about love: the ultimate loving sacrifice between child and parent, the importance of expressing love to each other and learning to love yourself.
I have always been very passionate about sharing and using my professional background to mentor children who have been bullied, suffer with health problems and physical disabilities, creating an environment where children can safely express themselves. I treasure my role as a Principal and mentor at Stagecoach Primrose Hill. My students are all so wonderful and it is their energy and enthusiasm that inspires me.
My students are lending their talents to raise funds for the charity Kids for Kids to give aid to at-risk children in Sudan. Please support them if you can by making a donation.
